More Artsy Fartsy Stuff!!

I'm terrible at taking photos and must learn how to adjust my camera so the photos are not blurry. These are just a few of the bracelets I've made and the necklaces I made about a month ago.  I recycled old jewelry and added new too. The bracelets I'll be selling for $15.00 each. The necklaces well, I'm not sure yet. They are very simple.

Our #3 Christmas!

We had such a wonderful time at my Mom's house on Tuesday. The food was great and spending time with my Mom and sisters is so exciting.

Merry Christmas

I know I'm a day late and a dollar short but the holidays always seem so hectic and I always run out of time doing the tasks that I have on my list so I always try to do the most important first and well if I don't get to the least of things to do then I feel I've accomplished what I need to do.
Christmas Eve was lovely and we had such a wonderful time at my Aunt Carole's home. My father's sister.

Christmas Day  we spent with my husbands family in Howell Michigan.  Again another great day with my Mother-In-Law's wonderful pasta and Italian desserts.

Oh!! Almost forgot.  I found this wonderful idea while blogging several days ago. Unfortunately, I don't remember which blog I seen this on but decided to take a crack at it.  They are wonderful little ornaments made from wine corks. I did change it around a bit by adding beads to the bottom. I drilled a hole in the center of the cork and  inserted wire, added the  beads then  added a loop on the bottom  to hang a small charm or pendant.  They came out pretty good!

If you want directions to make these, email me at abella4@att.net

IT IS WONDERFUL TO HAVE TWO OF THE BEST YOUNG LADIES AS DAUGHTERS THAT INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE ME.  THEY ARE MY ROCK AND MY VERY GOOD FRIENDS. I AM SO VERY PROUD OF BOTH OF THEM. THEY DO WELL IN SCHOOL AND ARE SOCIALLY ACTIVE AND PARTICIPATE IN SCHOOL FUNCTIONS. THEY ARE "GOOD GIRLS" WITH STRONG MORALS AND GOOD JUDGMENT. THERE IS NOTHING MORE IN THE WORLD THAT I COULD ASK FOR.
NOW FOR THE SCRAPBOOKING PART.  I MUST FINISH THEIR ALBUMS. THAT IS MY GOAL FOR THE NEW YEAR TO BEGIN TO FINISH THE ALBUMS THAT I HAVE NOT COMPLETED FOR MYSELF AND THEM.

Tips on Scrapbooking Heritage Albums continued....

When working on family history or creating a family tree, it is important to understand the family relationship terms and knowing where your place is in relationship to particular relatives.I have listed below examples of a few definitions that can help identify family relationships and where they fall in the family tree.

For Example:

Cousin (first cousin):  first cousins are children of your aunts and uncles. Mainly your parents siblings children. They also have the same grandparents  as you.

Second cousins:  These are the family members that have the same great grandparents as you do but not the same grandparents, or your parents first cousins.

Third, fourth, and fifth cousins: Third cousins have the same great great grandparents. Fourth cousins have the same great great great grandparents as you.

There are many websites and books that can help identifying  family relationships. Below are a few geneaology resources:

Websites:

http://www.ancestry.com/

http://www.familyorigins.com/

http://www.familytreemaker.com/

http://www.ellisisland.org/

Magazines:
Family Tree Magazine
History Magazine

Books
Handbook for Genealogists - Everton Publishers

Societies
The National Genealogical Society (NGS)
Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS)

Discovering your ancestors and celebrating the who, what, where, and when that made your family who they are today is very rewarding and gives a better insite on your genealogy as well as preserving memories and memorabilia for your future generations.

Hope you've enjoyed this post!!

LET THE CHRISTMAS MAGIC BEGIN!

Eisenhower's Taste of our Town

It was a very fun and profitable evening with lots of good food from area restaurants and lounges. I met new Moms from Eisenhower and we shared some very interesting thoughts and good laughs.

The Eisenhower boosters band performed well with many holiday songs to get everyone in the Christmas Spirit.
